Happy Holidays and Valentines Day

That special time of year is quicking approaching!  Soon the stalkings will be hung with presents under the tree or candles will be lit all to celebrate a special time of year.  I consider December a holiday, many dont agree but when your birthday and for me, Christmas, are 12 days apart, in the same month, its a great big holiday to me!  I want to thank all the families who chose me as their photographer for the holiday season, it was a lot of fun and a pleasure meeting new people and spending time with you as well as capturing the memories for you.

I will be doing another set of mini sessions in late January.  I have added some card samples to my website (http://www.sarahcrawfordphotography.com/) for your viewing.  For the sessions you will have two options.  Option 1 will be 25 Valentines Day cards and 2 5x7's along with the session.  Option 2: will be all prints.  I am currently in search of an inside location in the Fells Point area to hold the sessions so once that is all finalized I will be sending more details.  If you are interested please let me know and I will let you have priority in choosing your time slot! :)

Enjoy the holidays and till next time...Live, Laugh, Love, and Enjoy the memories!

The Glenns

Saturday I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with one of my favorite families here in Baltimore. Like me and many of my friends here, they are transplants and do not have family in the area.  There is a group of us who have become our own little Baltimore family so it was great to photograph them and capture this time in their lives and expanding family! Enjoy this glimps into our day...

Merry Christmas from Tyler

This little cutie was so much fun! I got there and we played with his toys and cars for a bit and then got down to business...more "play!" He loved playing with the holiday lights, tree decorations, and hiding behind the couch.  Here are a few pictures from our fun afternoon...

Silent Auction

This spring I dontated a free session to a silent auction for Padonia Elementary's Panda Jamboree.  This session took us what seemed like forever to schedule but was well worth it! We started with a date in July and after a few dates that had to be changed for various reasons we were finally able to make it happen in mid November.  This family was so much fun and had a fantastic location right in their backyard in the Essex/Middle River area.  Here is a glimpse of the wonderful Roberts Family...

Mini Sessions

The mini sessions this past weekend were lots of fun but oh so blustery and chilly.  The families toughed it out and we got some great shots for the holidays.  :)  I want to thank they for being such great sports and dealing with the cold and wind...if only we could control the weather :)

London Bridges

I spent the week before Easter touring London and doing mini photo shoots with my favorite 20 month old!  We had such a great time visiting just about every famous building in London and many of the gardens, as well as a few spots outside of town.

Miss Madeline chilling on the bus tour around town!  I loved that she decided to stick her feet out over the edge :)

Loving running in Hyde Park

Yummy ice cream with a Flake

moving along...

Im pretty excited about my progress in this adventure!  I just saw my first order...everything looked great and loved the packaging!  I placed my second order today cant wait to see how those turn out! :)  Im also doing a little promoting through a friend and her child's school and I started a FB page.  Getting my name out there and spreading the word with friends.

Thanks so much to all those who have and are helping/supporting me through this process!  Its very exciting! :)

What am I doing awake at this time...Oh wait, placing my first order!

Last week was a new adventure for me...I went to see a friend play at a local restaurant "Darker Than Blue" for a live jazz performance for 88.9.  It was a small venue and him being the drummer behind the other four guys made it a tad difficult to get just pictures of him...I made it work and feel like I came away with some great shots of him as well as the other band members.  It was such a great experience and amazing music!

I just placed my FIRST order for a friend, who actually was my first subject when I began this process about a month ago! It should arrive at her house in a couple of days and cant wait to see what they look like!

I just received my backdrop stand and two backdrops I ordered. I cant wait to play/use them.  I never realized how big 10x12 was until I tried handling a piece of cloth that size.  In the future, back drops will me much smaller! :)  OK, I feel like I'm a bit on the delirious side...off to bed for me!

'Till next time....

The beginning of a great adventure...

The past few weeks have been a great adventure starting with a FB message from my sister-like cousin at 10 pm my time...3 am her time in London on February 9th saying "I've had an epiphany - I think you should start a business as a children's photographer."  It is now March 3rd and I now have a website, have done 3 shoots in which I have solicited friends and their children, and am posting my first post on my blog.  It has been a lot of fun and a huge learning experience.

Session 1: Benny aka Benji  ;)

This little guy did very well and tolerated his mom and I playing dress up with him and putting him in all kinds of positions.  There were needed naps and feedings and one major meltdown!!  Lesson learned: food and naps make for a happy baby!

Session 2: Miss Shay and the little Irishman Owen

This was a bit of a challenge but so much fun, Shay had just woken up and was not into having her picture taken as you can see, she did not want to look at the camera...distract her with flowers, tutus, and jewelry and you can still get great shots.  Owen on the other hand was all about having his picture taken.  His mom and I had lots of fun with him, even walked away with a prop! Overall, some of the best pictures came from this day!  Lesson learned: go with the flow and distract!

Session 3: Miss Bayley and no pics for JJ :)
Well this visit was mostly a catch up for mommy and me and definitely a what to do and what not to do when dealing with a 3 week old that does not like to be put down when she is awake or only half asleep.  She was the sweetest little thing and loves to cuddle.  Shes one to photograph when napping and quickly! :)  Next time mommy would be covered in the blankets or backdrops so Miss B thinks she is still being held.  Lesson Learned: everything washes and expect the unexpected!

Thank you so much to my mommy friends and their kiddos!  I look forward to continuing on this journey with you and your families!  Thank you to Miss J for the inspiration to actually put my thoughts into action and to my favorite Chippie for being so darn cute and a great subject this summer!
