The beginning of a great adventure...

The past few weeks have been a great adventure starting with a FB message from my sister-like cousin at 10 pm my time...3 am her time in London on February 9th saying "I've had an epiphany - I think you should start a business as a children's photographer."  It is now March 3rd and I now have a website, have done 3 shoots in which I have solicited friends and their children, and am posting my first post on my blog.  It has been a lot of fun and a huge learning experience.

Session 1: Benny aka Benji  ;)

This little guy did very well and tolerated his mom and I playing dress up with him and putting him in all kinds of positions.  There were needed naps and feedings and one major meltdown!!  Lesson learned: food and naps make for a happy baby!

Session 2: Miss Shay and the little Irishman Owen

This was a bit of a challenge but so much fun, Shay had just woken up and was not into having her picture taken as you can see, she did not want to look at the camera...distract her with flowers, tutus, and jewelry and you can still get great shots.  Owen on the other hand was all about having his picture taken.  His mom and I had lots of fun with him, even walked away with a prop! Overall, some of the best pictures came from this day!  Lesson learned: go with the flow and distract!

Session 3: Miss Bayley and no pics for JJ :)
Well this visit was mostly a catch up for mommy and me and definitely a what to do and what not to do when dealing with a 3 week old that does not like to be put down when she is awake or only half asleep.  She was the sweetest little thing and loves to cuddle.  Shes one to photograph when napping and quickly! :)  Next time mommy would be covered in the blankets or backdrops so Miss B thinks she is still being held.  Lesson Learned: everything washes and expect the unexpected!

Thank you so much to my mommy friends and their kiddos!  I look forward to continuing on this journey with you and your families!  Thank you to Miss J for the inspiration to actually put my thoughts into action and to my favorite Chippie for being so darn cute and a great subject this summer!
